If music be the food of love then come and join us at Lake Yard on Friday 14 February for a Valentine’s Dinner with live music from Veronique Joly & Rob Palmer from 7pm and John Springett from 9:30pm.

Spice up your Valentine’s Day this year and treat your loved one to some real romance at Lake Yard Club & Restaurant. We’ve got a passionately amorous three-course menu prepared by head chef Richard just for the two of you. And while you gaze into each others’ eyes and play footsie under the table you get ‘get in the mood’ with some sultry, sensual jazz from Veronique Joly and Rob Palmer from 7pm. Later, if jazz ain’yt your thing, we’ve got the evergreen and ever wonderful John Springett performing live in the bar area from 9:30pm.

Paris-born Veronique is an experienced jazz singer who started performing live at the age of 17 and paid her dues on the Paris music scene before moving to London in 1992. She has been involved in many diverse projects including co-writing and recording a song for Rick Stein’s French Odyssey BBC programme. She sings a mixture of smooth jazz, swing, funk, latin & soul ranging from gentle ballads and swing classics to upbeat sambas and jazz favourites. Husband Rob will accompany her on his guitar from 7pm until 9:30pm.

John Springett is well known at Lake Yard and his voice is a familiar fixture of the club’s calendar. If you can hum it, boy can John sing it. Expect original takes on modern and classic ballads to ensure that love remains in the air throughout the evening. There’s always something for everyone and he’s sure to get the dance floor full of lovers as usual.
