Valentine’s Dinner
If music be the food of love then come and join us at Lake Yard on Wednesday 14 February for a Valentine’s Dinner with live jazz from Veronique Joly & Rob Palmer.
If you’re tired of the same old Valentine’s night as you stare at each other silently across a plate of mash potato swans swimming in some red-coloured jus, then treat your loved one to some real romance at Lake Yard Club & Restaurant this year.
We’ve got a passionately amorous three-course menu prepared by head chef Richard just for the night. Starters include lobster bisque, pan-fried local scallops and medallions of local beef. Mains include prosciutto-wrapped fillet of monkfish, Dorset lamb and Creedy Carver duck breast. Finish off with a range of starters including salted caramel and Baileys Chocolate torte, vanilla creme brulée and dark chocolate and raspberry truffles.
All this as you’re be serenaded by the smooth jazz of Veronique Joly and Rob Palmer as you play footsie like a couple of playful teenagers. Paris-born Veronique is an experienced jazz singer who started performing live at the age of 17 and paid her dues on the Paris music scene before moving to London in 1992. She has been involved in many diverse projects including co-writing and recording a song for Rick Stein’s French Odyssey BBC programme. She sings a mixture of smooth jazz, swing, funk, latin & soul ranging from gentle ballads and swing classics to upbeat sambas and jazz favourites. Husband Rob will accompany her on his guitar from 7:30pm until 9pm.
