The Old Buoys Christmas Lunch takes place at Lake Yard on Wednesday 18th December and is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the festive season with old colleagues and sailors-in-arms.

If you want to hear tall tales of the winter that Poole Harbour completely froze over and orca could be caught off Gigger’s Island then come along to this year’s Old Buoys Christmas Lunch at the Lake Yard Clubhouse & Restaurant in Hamworthy, Poole. There will be plenty festive food and drink and lots of opportunities to compare shark bites and jellyfish stings.

Held on the last Wednesday of every month for all ex-workers of the Lake Yard Shipyard, the The Old Buoys Lunch takes place from 12 noon until 4pm but usually carries on in the bar with some hearty choruses of ‘Blow The Man Down’, knot tying competitions and rum-fuelled re-enactments of the best scenes from Jaws (“You’re gonna need a bigger boat”).
